Bishop James & Mimi Rayburn Bishop Rayburn is an ordained minister of the Pentecostal Church of God and is currently the Residing Bishop of the Kentucky District. He is a retired Army Chaplain with 23 years of active service in providing ministry to our military communities. He has over twenty years of pastoral experience serving in Military Chapels and Pentecostal Church of God congregations. Prior to the Army Chaplaincy, he served as the District Youth Director for the Kentucky District and the Mid-Atlantic Coast District. He then served as the National Christian Pathlighters Director of the Pentecostal Church of God. During his military ministry he also served as a Sectional Presbyter for the Eastern Section of the Mid-Atlantic Coast District and the Western Presbyter for the Kentucky District. He has been a member of the Board of Regents for Messenger College since 1988, with the exception of the time he was stationed in Germany. He holds a Doctorate of Ministry Degree, Masters of Divinity and a Masters of Science Degree in Guidance. His undergraduate degree was from Southern Bible College. He is currently a Diplomate with the American Association of Pastoral Counselors, Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapists, plus a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Pastoral Counselor. Mrs. Rayburn has been an active leader in the Protestant Women of the Chapel for over twenty years. She has held numerous leadership positions at both the local and regional levels in the PWOC USA (Protestant Women of the Chapel in the United States). While stationed in Germany she served on the European PWOC Board, in addition to leadership positions for the area and local chapters. Mrs. Rayburn is a graduate of The University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Both Bishop and Mrs. Rayburn are originally from Flatwoods, Kentucky. They are the parents of two daughters: Candace and Carlyn.
